Vastushashtra Science Behind

INTRODUCTION

Vastu is a Science based on Climatology and has very little to do with religion and spirituality. Its an ancient science that guides the people to construct their Homes, Offices, Shops, Industries in a better way that helps in healthy living and create overall prosperity.
In the present day, the number of Vaastu experts in our country is second only to the number of cricket experts and just like the latter, they have strongly differing opinions on what rules and principles one must follow to ensure Vaastu Shastra compliance.

WHY VASTU IS IMPORTANT?

Vaastu considered the interplay of various forces of nature involving the five elements of earth, water, wind, fire and ether and strives to maintain equilibrium as these elements influence, guide and change the living styles of not only human beings but every living being on earth.
Vastu Shastra unifies the science, art, astronomy and astrology, it can also be said as an ancient mystic science for designing and building. Vastu Shastra helps us to make our lives better and will secure from things going wrong.
Vastushastra is based on various natural energies-
Vastu can be used for every structure like room, house, temple, shop industry, town planning, tour, cities and even for earth. Vastu can be used for micro as well as for macro level.Every creature on earth starts its life with sunrise as it performs day & night. Hence there is much importance of sun in every one life. It gives ultra violet rays in morning and infra red rays in evening which one basic need to reduce / generate bio-chemical germs, N2/ Oxygen / CO2 on earth.
Sun indicates light (illumination) will power, generosity, solar system, luck or fate, mobility and in body. It rules over bone, eye, heart, spinalcord, blood circulation and soul etc. Hence east direction is auspicious; it belongs to lord Indra. North is considered auspicious since magnetic lines of forced moves from North to South, thus origin of all the life.

Vastu Tips for House Design

The best shape is square. Rectangle is also excellent provided the length is not more than 1.5 times the width. Where the plot is neither square nor rectangular, the following requirements should be ensured.
1. Angle at D must be a right angle.
2 .Angles at A and C should not be less than a right angle.
3. Angle at B should not exceed a right angle.
Where the aforesaid requirements are not obtainable, remedial measures are to be adopted. This is done by cutting off the interference and giving it away or keeping it off the corrected boundary through barbed wire fencing. The rejected area can be made a receptacle for dumping garden refuse etc. to make compost. This correction is a MUST before any construction activity is taken up.

Pre-construction

It is recommended that one performs a Bhumi Pooja (worshipping the earth) before starting the house construction. This is considered an auspicious beginning and heralds a good start to the proceedings.

Building Position:

Leave more space towards North and East side of the House compared to South and West side. Now you’ll realize why North and East facing plots are preferred as they allow us to design properly. We should generally leave space all around the house, it is considered as a good vastu, this helps in better air circulation and proper ventilation.

Entry:

Entry Gate into the Plot is advisable to be in North & East, these areas are generally cool and helps in better ventilation. Entry to the house is also preferred to be in North or East, this helps the house dwellers in having Prosperity and Good Health.

The South-East corner of the house is the most ideal one for the kitchen’s location and cooking supposedly should be done while facing the East. However, please bear in mind that the kitchen should not be located directly in front of the main door of the house.

Master Bedroom:

Master Bedroom is advised to be located in the South West Portion of the house and also the Master Bedroom should be the highest part of the house as well. For a duplex house, Master Bedroom should be on the First Floor.

Center of the House:

Central portion of the house should be left free for circulation and any heavy structures like staircases etc. should not be placed in the center.

Toilets & Bathrooms:

Toilets and Bath rooms are advised to be located on the South & West part of the house, leaving the North and East parts free for proper ventilation and also protecting the house from heat.

Staircase:

Staircase should be located on the South or West part of the house, it is advisable that you climb the staircase from East to West direction or North to South Direction in a clock wise fashion. This helps in reducing accidents on staircases and this idea is based on human use and ergonomics.

South West:

South West should be the highest point in your house.
